- At Los Angeles Medical Imaging College, a nonprofit institution, we are dedicated to providing exceptional education in diagnostic medical sonography. Our comprehensive entry-level programs offer an immersive experience covering all aspects of the field. We pride ourselves on delivering top-quality instruction to ensure student success. Aligned with our mission, we aim to set the standard for nonprofit sonography training in Los Angeles and beyond. After our Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program,
you'll be able to:
- Gather and Assess Patient Data: By the end of the second semester, you will accurately gather, assess, and incorporate patient history and clinical data to enhance diagnostic outcomes.
- Execute Ultrasound Scanning Procedures: You'll perform precise ultrasound scans and document important data for doctors to review, achieving mastery by the end of the third semester.
- Document and Manage Diagnostic Findings: You'll document, evaluate, and manage diagnostic findings and observations effectively, consistently demonstrating this by the end of the fourth semester.
- Demonstrate Professional Judgment and Communication: You'll use sound judgment in sonographic services and communicate effectively with patients and peers, showing competence by program completion.
- Adhere to Ethical Standards and Educate Patients: You'll adhere to ethical standards, exhibit professionalism, and educate patients on ultrasound techniques, promoting health and wellness. By the end of the third semester, you'll demonstrate proficiency.

At LAMIC, we offer a two-track educational program where students can specialize in either General Sonography or Cardiac Sonography. After completing the General Education courses and passing the SPI examination, students have the option to select their preferred specialization track.
